Apprenticeships Hairdressing Course
These training courses are for people of all ages from 16 years of age. We will help you gain employment or a work placement in a professional hairdressing salon. You will be provided with a planned programme of training one day per week at one of our 7 superb training centres. The Apprenticeship programme provides an exciting opportunity for highly motivated people to acquire skills and qualifications whilst at the same time working within the hairdressing industry.
You will undertake a programme of training tailored to meet both your needs and that of the hairdressing salon that you work in. You will be working towards gaining NVQ's at levels 2 and 3 and qualifications in Functional Skills
Assessment of your skills and knowledge will be assessed both in the salon and at the Venture Learning training centre by qualified and experience hairdressing trainers.
What kind of training will I be doing?
You will have the opportunity to experience all aspects of the hairdressing industry. This will involve theory to backup the practical skills of cutting, colouring, perming and all other related tasks.
How and when and will I do the training?
You will be expected to attend one of the Venture Learning training centres 1 day per week where you will participate in a planned programme of theory and practical lessons. You will also work in your placement salon which is usually 4 days per week

How long will the training last?
This depends on how much experience you already have and your ability.
Level 2 Apprenticeship: Day release from a salon over 24 months
Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship: Day release from a salon over 12-18 months
For which programme will I be eligible?
This will depend on your GCSE results and our Initial Assessment of your prior skills and knowledge.
Where will the training take place?
Your hairdressing course will take place at one of our 7 superb training centres centres in Wigan, Leigh, Blackpool or St. Annes
Who will help me with the training?
We have a team of highly skilled and qualified trainers who will support and guide you through your training, you will also have a Training Coordinator who will be on hand to give advice on any additional needs you may require. You're Training Coordinator will also visit you at work to check on your progress and carry out any assessment that is needed.

How much will I be paid whilst I am in training?
If you have been successful and have gained employment in a professional hairdressing salon you will be paid a weekly wage.

If you have been offered a placement in a hairdressing salon you may be eligible to apply for either an:
EMA (Educational Maintenance Allowance) if you are 16,17 or 18
or
ALG (Adult Learning Grant) if you are 19 years or older
